Decision to include life-saving CPR in training curriculum

ISLAMABAD: The government of Pakistan has decided to include life-saving CPR in the training curriculum.

According to details, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has taken important steps for the improvement of health sector in Pakistan and directed to conduct CPR training nationwide.

The Prime Minister directed Salman Sufi, Head of Strategic Reforms, to take immediate steps in this regard.

Salman Sufi said that CPR training would be instrumental in saving millions of lives, adding that CPR training would also be included in the school curriculum.

What is CPR?

CPR is a form of cardiopulmonary resuscitation. CPR is the process of pressing the chest and closing the mouth to bring the patient back to consciousness in an emergency.

CPR is actually a life-saving procedure that is tried when a patient's heart suddenly stops beating or he is experiencing severe difficulty breathing.

Properly covered, it will withstand a great deal of adverse conditions.

Emergencies that require CPR include heart attack, drowning, suffocation, electric shock, poisoning, and life-threatening allergic reactions.
